77 – April 6, Marie and Jean-Marie Visit, Night Stroll

It’s Jean-Pierre’s birthday.

At 8 AM, the phone rings. Marie and Jean-Marie will be in Taos in an hour:
– “Are you at the Foundation this morning? Can Marie come over to your place while I’m at my appointment? She’s had her fill of business appointments. In short, are you free? We could also have lunch together.”
– “Sure, I’ll pick Marie up.”

I meet them at the Visitor Center. On the way home, we stop to buy croissants. Great breakfast. We exchange news.

Jean-Marie shows up. He’s crazy about America. He has been here often, adores American literature and music. He starts to tell me about all the great places in New Mexico that I should visit. Obviously, it will be impossible to see everything. I describe my encounters, the hikes, the pleasure of three whole months of absolute freedom in a place you don’t know. Marie is very patient.

We have lunch at Doc Martins and the enthusiastic talk continues! We don’t notice the time passing. Too bad they can’t stay. They leave for Alamosa, where they have booked a room. Have a safe trip !

I come home in a good mood and spend the rest of the afternoon recording music that I want to send to Jean-Pierre for his birthday. I prepare some emails. In each one there is a colored “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” and three or four pieces of music that I want to share with him.

Later, when I look at my emails, no answer. A major setback: the music files are too big and have blocked the whole system. Gmail endlessly repeats “file size exceeded.”

Fortunately, I had sent a quick happy birthday message this morning. I go to bed without succeeding in deleting the email that’s blocking everything. The little wheel is still turning…

Going for a drive, not bad for calming down the computer irritations!
